COPENHAGEN STEEL CUTLERY

Grethe Meyer was a perfect match when Georg Jensen – clearly sensing a decline in interest for and sales of silverware – sought to meet new demands for cutlery in steel that would be equally suited to everyday use and special occasions.

Her Copenhagen cutlery was presented in 1991 and quickly became a success with its classic elegance combined with clean and slim lines. The fork and spoon is a very personal tool because it is the link between the gastronomic experience and your lips and mouth. Therefore the cutlery must not steal focus but should instead enhance the experience.
Copenhagen has been in production ever since. It remains a bestseller to this day and comes in polished steel and a matte Georg Jensen finish.

The Copenhagen series fits into both modern and classic contexts and is in constant development, new parts being added depending on demands and trends within the world of gastronomy. In fact it continues to enjoy a rare popularity among professionals and is currently represented in several Michelin star restaurants.
