Copenhagen cutlery

Grethe was by Georg Jensen asked to design a cutlery in steel that was classic, elegant and beautiful – and could be used for both everyday and special occasions.
When the cutlery Copenhagen was created, the tendency was that younger consumers no longer were interested in silverware and the difficulty of having to take care of it and polishing it.
This was clearly in the figures by Georg Jensen, sales of silver cutlery were stagnant.

Copenhagen cutlery was from the beginning a great success with its clean lines and timeless design.

The cutlery was produced both in polished steel and matt Georg Jensen finish.

Later, the cutlery was equipped with a rifle as in double triflet cutlery. However, it was never a success and quickly went out of production again.

Copenhagen cutlery is a classic, and there are continuously added new parts for the series, depending on demand within the gastronomy. It is used in many different settings – in both modern and classic contexts. Just as it have been successful internationally.

The cutlery Copenhagen is produced and marketed by Georg Jensen since 1991.
